Ian Ackerman is Deputy General Counsel of Ryan Specialty Group (RSG) and has been with the company since 2011. Ian has handled and continues to oversee all legal needs for Ryan Specialty Group and its subsidiaries.

Prior to joining the company, Ian was with Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago where he worked with RSG from its inception. Ian practiced law in Kirkland’s corporate practice group and regularly worked on complex transactions in regulated industries involving multiple jurisdictions, focusing on private equity and mergers and acquisition accounts.

Ian graduated with distinction from the University of California at Berkeley with a BA in Political Science, and he earned his Juris Doctorate from Boston University, Magna Cum Laude.
