Nathan Warde serves as President of Windward Specialty, a member company of Ryan Specialty Group’s RSG Underwriting Managers. Windward Specialty is a highly experienced specialty property underwriter focusing in non-admitted property risks.

He has 30 years of specialty insurance experience. Prior to joining Windward, Nathan held a variety of senior management positions including CEO and Chief Property Officer of well-respected specialty insurance carriers, and was responsible for the strategic direction and profitability for all first party coverages including Admitted and Non-admitted Property product lines, Inland Marine, Ocean Marine, Rail Road, and Fine Arts. Additional responsibilities included the structure and design of reinsurance programs, and the performance management of corporate catastrophe portfolios.

Nathan has a diverse underwriting and operational background. He has been intimately involved in three start-up initiatives and the formulation and execution of their initial strategies, business development, producer relationships and performance management.

Nathan is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine with majors in Economics and Political Science. Nathan holds a number of professional insurance designations including the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), Associate in Marine Insurance Management (AMIM), Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM), and Certificate in General Insurance (INS). He has also completed a Certificate in Fire Protection from the University of California. He is a licensed P&C and Surplus Lines broker in all 50 US states.
